In the spring of 1995, 1000 free bicycles were placed in the inner region of Copenhagen. Today, the Copenhagen bicycle program is still in operation and is one of dozens of free-bike programs in Europe and North America. Communities as diverse as Denver, CO; Portland, OR; Decatur, GA; and Olympia, WA have adopted the free bicycle program. Now, the program reaches Cranbrook!
Cranbrook is smaller than Copenhagen or even Decatur, but we all still need to get around. Whether it's a trip from Print Media to the Media Lab, or the natatorium to deSalle Auditorium, a free bike can come in handy... especially a funky one. So take a "Town Bicycle" out for a ride! Just leave it at your destination in plain view for others to use.
Rules of use:
· Ride it but don't abuse it.
· Modify it, but keep it rideable. (Weld, bold, glue or velcro on modifications as you wish.)
· Leave it where others can find and use it.
· Try to keep it on the CAA campus. If you ride to Kingswood, just ride it back to the CAA area.
· If a bike needs maintenance or if you have any questions, email Christian Cutler.
